Charles Calvin Houser Sr. of Bath, NY, formerly of Avoca, NY passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Taylor Health Center in Bath, NY. Charlie was born on 23 October 1934 in La Jose, PA to Ralph Houser and Vida (Diehl) Houser. He graduated from Chesquehanna-Westover Senior High School as the Valedictorian of his class, and attended Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City, NY where he met his future wife. Charlie and his wife Elizabeth recently celebrated their63rd wedding anniversary. Charlie was always tinkering with cars and had worked at Bath Auto Parts and with a gas station/garage in Avoca in the 1960's before he started in Finance and Banking. He spent many years at the Bank of Avoca and also worked at Bath National Bank before he joined the NY State Banking Department as a Bank Examiner in 1980. He retired in 1995 from the NYS Banking Department. Charlie is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Longwell) Houser at their residence in Bath, NY. He is also survived by his son Charles Houser Jr., daughter Cathgy Houser, daughter Susan Woodby (Richard), son David Houser (Lisa) and twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
