Obituary of Dorothy Eleanor Wager

Dorothy E. Wager, age 96, of the Groton Community Health Care Center, Groton, NY, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2013. Dorothy was born Dec. 4, 1916 in Bath, NY, the daughter of Frank and Myrtle Randolph. Dorothy was predeceased by her husbands, Elwyn Gay Sr., William Wager Sr. and her beloved daughter Joan Podolec.
Dorothy is survived by her son Elwyn (Marge) Grant of Frisco, TX; grandchildren Valerie (Heather) Podolec of Cortland, NY; Eric Podolec of Horseheads, NY; Gunnar (Michelle) Podolec of Horseheads, NY; Amber Podolec of Cortland, NY; and Jeff (Shelley) Grant of Edmund, OK; great-grandchildren Spencer and Preston Grant, Mischa Podolec and Caitlin Donahue; and several nieces.
Dorothy was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church and American Legion Auxiliary in Bath, NY. Dorothy had a lifelong passion and concern for people and volunteered for 15 years with the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP); touching many lives with her compassion and sense of humor. At Dorothy’s request there will be no calling hours. Burial will be at the Nonadaga Cemetery.
