Leona E. Paproky, 87, of Horseheads, NY and formerly of 67 Wilson Street in Corning, NY died Monday, June 10, 2013 at Bethany Village in Horseheads, NY. She was born July 1, 1925 in Duryea, PA the daughter of Thomas and Anna Fedor Kashmer. Mrs. Paproky was a parishioner of All Saints Parish in Corning, NY. She retired from the Corning School District where she worked in Food Service. She is survived by daughters, Carol Ann (Tom) Pease of Corning, NY and Donna Jean (Phil) Morse of Paducah, KY, son, Walter V. (Debbie) Paproky Jr. of Houston, TX, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brother, Robert (Ann) Kashmer of Keuka Lake, NY and two sisters, Marion Switzer of Bath, NY and Dorothy Fritz of Huntsville, AL. She was predeceased by her husband Walter V. Paproky Sr. in December 2002; 5 brothers, Joseph, Michael, Thomas, Alfred and John and her sister, Joan Kashmer. Leona’s wishes were to have private funeral services for her family, and burial will be in Bath National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Paproky’s name may be made to Care First, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830 and Bethany Manor Recreation Department, 3005 Watkins Road, Horseheads, NY 14845.
