Obituary of Donald C Knowles Sr.

DONALD C. KNOWLES, SR. BATH - Donald C. Knowles Sr, of Bath, died on Tuesday (June 25, 2013). Donald was born Sept. 14, 1929 to the late Henry and Sophie Wisniski Knowles in Bath. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Wray, whom he married on Oct. 1, 1983; his children, Denise (David) Baker of Okeechobee, Fla., Diane (John) Kapral of Corning, Dean (Denise) Knowles and Dana ( Marjorie) of Campbell, Donald Jr. (Cheryl) of N. Litchfield, Ariz., Stacey (Randy) Brzezinski of Bath, Susan (Kim) Kent of Nichols, Charlie Wray of Campbell and Joseph (Denise) Wray of Melbourne Beach, Fla. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sister Clara Shadduck (Charlie Manwaring) of Painted Post; brothers, Kenneth (LaVera) of Woodhull, Dick (Diane), Henry (Joan) and Leo (Linda), all of Campbell. He leaves a sister-in–law, Joan (Jim) Budinski of Casa Grande, Ariz.; and two brothers-in-law, Charles (Sevena) Tompkins of Cape Canaveral, Fla. and Charles Hadley of Bath. Also several nieces and nephews Donald was predeceased by his first wife (Donna Root Knowles) and grandsons, Nicholas Knowles and Bryan Wray. Donald was a 1946 graduate of Campbell Central School. He was a retired co-owner of Steuben LP Gas in Woodhull, and previously volunteered at Corning Hospital. A private memorial will be held. Burial will be at Chapel Knoll Cemetery in Coopers Plains, N.Y. Memorials may be made to Finger Lakes SPCA, 7315 State Route 415, Bath, N.Y., 14810.
