Alley Learn Bath | Alley L . Learn, 99, passed away in his home on Wednesday, July 10, 2013. He was the son of the late Sophia Root Learn and Fay Learn, born in Hornell N.Y. on May 24, 1914. Alley was a dairy farmer, a 75 year life member of the North Cameron Grange and a retiree from the Steuben County Highway Department. Alley enjoyed farming, restoring vintage tractors, and spending time with his family. He was a loving man with a charming sense of humor; his stories were loved by all. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret Ellison Learn to whom he married in November 1941, brother Chancy Learn, and sisters Frances Allen, and Edith Wakefield. He is survived by his sister Mable Shattuck; his five children; Ken (Mary) Learn of Bath, N.Y. ; Bev Johnson of Bath, NY; Fay Learn of Savona, N.Y.; Joyce (George) McNally of Corning, N.Y.; Mary Learn Buehler; and 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Fagan’s Funeral Home in Bath. Burial will be in Nondaga Cemetery, Bath. Memorial contributions in Alley’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
