Please share a memory of Rena to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rena B. Morse, 91, of Bath, NY, daughter of Nelson and Aloma Norris died following a short illness, on Saturday June 29, 2013 at the Steuben County Health Care Facility. Rena’s husband William “Bus” Morse predeceased her in May 2008. They were married 61 years. She is survived by two children, David Morse of Pittsfield, MA and Susan Morse of Buffalo, NY and four very dear friends, Herman and Eleanore Narron and JoAnn and Robert Brundage and their families. She is also survived by cousins Bevereley McLennan of Montreal, Canada, Robert Pritchard of Toronto, Canada and Texas and Douglas and Shirley Norris of Toronto, Canada. Rena was a life time communicant of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Bath where Reverend Brad Benson is the Rector and he also was a very close friend. Dave Latour faithfully brought Rena the sacraments of Holy Communion when she could not attend church and she so enjoyed his visits and friendship. She was a member of the Baron Steuben Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for over 70 years. Rena was born in a small town in Ontario, Canada and was very proud of her heritage. She was watching and listening for the arrival of the new heir to be born in England later this month. There was a special love in Rena’s heart for all animals and birds and wildlife. She leaves behind a lovely cat “Sweetie” and a pet turtle “Tommy”. Rena was graduated from Haverling Central School in 1939 and until her recent illness she anticipated attending the recent Haverling Alumni Banquet on June 14, 2013. Rena was in constant touch with her classmates and rarely missed a reunion. She will be buried in the Bath National Cemetery with her husband following a graveside service conducted by Reverend Brad Benson Today July 2, 2013 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers it was Rena’s wish that memorials be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Bath or to the Haverling Alumni Assoc. c/o 5488 Oregon Road, Bath, NY 14810. Fagan’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
