Obituary of John J. Ryan

John J Ryan died August 26, 2013 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. He was born February 24 1936 in Dansville NY to the Late John Ryan deceased April 1968, and Muriel ( Townsend ) Ryan , (Mastin ) deceased October 1979 . Also predeceased by two sons John (Jay ) November of 2009 and Joseph November of 2000, brothers Martin Sept. 1960 and David January 1994, and two sisters Rose ( Dee ) Dockstader in November 2012 and Joan Broughan in June 1989 . The oldest child of five. He is survived by his wife Karen, one daughter Dawn Marie(Duane ) Quanz of Wayland; three sons, Martin Ryan of Florida ,Victor ( Lisa ) Ryan of Hornell , Bryan (Colleen) Ryan of Wayne NY, daughter-in-law Pam Ryan of Alfred N.Y . He is also survived by his sister Vickie ( Mike ) Porter of Texas; grandchildren, Casondra Buck , Amanda (Greg ) Albro , Joshua, Johnathan, Cody, Jared ( Danielle), Ashlee, Kristeen, Nichole, Kali, Blake and Brody . Great grandchildren Genevieve, Jersey-hope Ann and John Jay . John worked for the City of Hornell (Department of Public Works ) for more than 25 years after his retirement he drove for the HAT bus for awhile . After a long and courageous 13 year battle with cancer John has went home to be with the lord . John served his Country in the (Army) Korean Conflict . John was a good husband, father and grandfather and uncle. He will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him . He will always and forever be in our hearts . Friends and family may call this evening August 29th from 5:00-8:00 pm . Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Kitty Ormsby officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Nondaga Cemetery, Bath.
