Diane S Knowles
Diane S. Knowles, 64, of Campbell, after a long and courageous battle with cancer was finally called home to be with God on Monday November, 18 2013.
She was born March 7, 1949 to Lawrence and Ann (Spencer) Ostrander. She was raised in the town of Avoca, NY where she graduated from Avoca Central School in 1967
While working at Ingersoll Rand in her early twenties Diane met Richard Knowles who would become her loving Husband for 40 years. The two were married on October 6, 1973 at the Avoca Methodist Church and together they raised five children; Rick, Laura, Randy, Vincent and Matthew.
She spent the bulk of her working life at Bath National Bank where she had many dear friends. She then went to work at Jo Ann’s Fabric. There she was able to utilize her great knowledge and skill in the field of sewing which was always her favorite hobby. Diane would go on to operate her own store at the Windmill in Penn Yan where she sold custom purses and other items she made herself.
Her greatest joy were her 13 grandchildren
In the end she died just as she had lived the last years of her life; under the close watch and care of her ever devoted husband Richard. Peacefully she drifted away to join her predeceased father Lawrence and grandson Collin.
She is survived by her husband Richard, her 5 children and 12 remaining grandchildren, her mother Ann Ostrander and brother Stephen (Patti) Ostrander as well as several cousins, aunts , uncles, nieces and nephews whom all she cherished.
