David Charles Simms, age 52, of Kanona, NY, died Saturday, November 23, 2013 at his home. He was born April 11, 1961 in Bath, NY the son of Robert and Patricia Grosfelt Simms. David was a graduate of Haverling Central School. He worked as a certified nurse’s assistant and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.   He was predeceased by his parents and sister Diane Simms Moore. He is survived by his children Christopher (Jessica) Harrison and Cori (Adam) Coots, grandchildren Lily Harrison and Madison and Colton Coots, brothers Neil (April) Simms and Tom (Elizabeth) Simms, sisters Judy Simms (Jim) and Lorraine (David) Fiedler, brother-in-law Tom Moore, nephews James Blankenship, Khurk Simms, Timothy and Jeffrey Moore and Daniel Fiedler, nieces Alieshia Davila, Deziree and Courtney Simms, Emily Simms, Stephanie Moore and Katherine Fiedler, companion Kathy Spitz, and life-long friends Paul Craddock and Shelby Kashorek.   David’s wishes were for no calling hours or service. Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life gathering at the Hammondsport American Legion on Friday December 6, from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers those wishing to make a donation in David’s memory may do so to the charity of their choice.
