Obituary of Edwin H. Parke

Edwin Hugh “Ted” Parke, age 77, of West Washington Street, Bath, NY, also previously lived in Cazenovia, NY for 15 years,  died on January 6th, 2014 at the Ira Davenport Hospital.  He was born on November 27, 1936 in Binghamton, NY, the son of Harold Fay and Helen Fessenden Parke.  Ted grew up on the South Side of Binghamton on Manier Street. He attended Binghamton Central High School where he graduated in 1955 and then attended college at Syracuse University where he was also a member of the men’s basketball team, graduating in 1959.  He married Kathryn Murray on July 13, 1959; they enjoyed their honeymoon in Cape May NJ, where they continued to vacation there annually with their children and grandchildren. One of his favorite pastimes was walking his dogs; they were always a constant companion throughout his life.  He was an avid sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and Syracuse University.  Ted was also a frequent spectator at his grandchildren’s events.  Ted was a Sales Representative throughout his career, most notably at Pyrofax Gas in Syracuse, I.D. Booth in Elmira, NY, and Bradley Supply Company in Hornell, NY. Surviving Ted, his Wife, Kathryn Murray Parke, Three children, Daniel Parke, Timothy (Sherry) Parke, Kathryn (Larry) Nivison.  Grandchildren, Lindsay Campbell, Tyler, Trevor, Andrew, Corey, and Grace Parke, Robert Mahoney, and two great-grandchildren.  Sister, Sandra Parke Kisloski, and several nephews. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 from 3PM to 6PM, at Fagan’s Funeral Home, Bath, NY.  The Funeral Service will be at 6PM at the conclusion of calling hours.  Deacon Robert Colomaio officiating.  Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Hammondsport, NY.
