Obituary of Virginia H. Hann

Virginia H. Hann, age 82, of Bath, NY passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2014 with her husband Melvin and daughter Nancy by her side. She was born July 30, 1931 in Hornell, NY the daughter of Francis and Iva Page Sheon. Mrs. Hann was a member of the Towlesville Grange and a past member of the Howard Eastern Stars and the Champagne Whirlaways. She had worked for Pro Action in Bath. She is survived by her husband with whom she celebrated 61 years of marriage on December 5th 2013, Melvin Hann of Bath, NY, daughter, Nancy Hann (Bruno Poplaski) of Bath, NY, son, Michael (Carrie) Hann of Bath, NY; grandchildren, Derrick (Peggy Sue) English of Bradford, NY, Sara (Bobby) Knowles of Bath, NY, Joshua Poplaski and Shirlyn Poplaski of Campbell, NY, Josh(Amanda) Wakeman of Savona, NY, Tom Thorpe III and Tara Marquez of Bath, NY, Michael P. Hann and Eve Freeborn of Bath, Caleb Hann (Dena Nichols) of Bath, Cpl. Jacob Hann of NC and Megan (Josh) O’Neal of NC, 15 great grandchildren with one on the way; sisters, Roberta Drake of Hornell and Addie Lou (Pete) Racalto of Bath, sister-in-law, Leora Parulski of Bath, son-in-law, Tom Thorpe IIof Bath and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Kathryn Thorpe and grandson Zachary Hann. Family and friends may call on Thursday January 23, 2014 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath, NY. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Barre Butts officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donation in Mrs. Hann’s name may be made to the Zachary Hann Scholarship fund c/o Haverling Central School.
