George M. Crippen, age 80, of Bath, NY died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Taylor Health Center in Bath. He was born January 2, 1934 in Bath, NY the son of the late George M. and Bertha M. (Larkim) Crippen. George was an Army Veteran and retired from the US Postal Service in 1997. He had also worked at various business in Bath over the years and especially enjoyed working in his beloved concession stand around the area. George was very active with the JayCees in Bath, he was involved with several different branches of The Masons and he was a member of the Eastern Star’s. George was an avid bowler. He is survived by his wife, Sue A. (Haar) Crippen of Bath, his son Mark (Lisa) Crippen of Bath, daughter, Shawn Crippen of Bath, NY; three grandchildren, Monica (Walt) Woods, Sherri Crippen and Stephanie Crippen and 10 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, son Michael Crippen and sisters, Winifred Krantz and Katherine Lorke. Friends are invited to call on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 3:00-6:00 pm at Fagan’s Funeral Home in Bath. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 pm at the funeral home with Military honors and Masonic and Eastern Star services will follow. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in George’s name may be made to the Alzheimers Association at www.alzfdn.org.
