Obituary of Mary F. Shugars

Mary F. Shugars, age 53, of Bath, NY died Monday, February 24, 2014 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY. She was born December 1, 1960 in Bath, NY the daughter of Casimir and Josephine LeClair Skrocki. Mary graduated from Haverling in 1979 and went on to earn her Associates Degree from Corning Community College, Summa Cum Laude. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Bath and the Phi Beta Capa. Mary worked for 32 years at the Bath Veterans Administration including a year in MurFreesboro, Tennessee. Mary touched the hearts of everyone at the Bath VAMC with her kindness, and ability to find the good in everyone. She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Harry C..Shugars, her parents Casimir and Josephine Skrocki of Bath, stepson Harry (Katie) Shugars Jr. of Bath; four grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, Alex and Amanda and two great grandchildren, Raylee and Brendyn; brothers, David (Cindy) Skrocki of Oviedo, FL and Michael Skrocki of Corning, NY, sister, Beverly Skrocki of Vestal, NY, niece Sara Walker of Panama City, FL, nephew Ryan Skrocki of Oviedo, FL and special friend Leslie Bonham. . She was predeceased by three sisters, Karen Mowry, Patricia and Susan Skrocki. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 4:30-6:30 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath. Funeral services will follow at 6:30 pm at the funeral home with Father James Jaeger officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Nondaga Cemetery.
