Rosalie Clare Walsh Niemczyk, age 81, of Bath, New York died Tuesday December 31, 2019 at Highland Brighton Hospital, Rochester, NY. Rosalie was a one-of-kind woman. She taught Spanish and Business and was a guidance couselor for Bethpage High School, Long Island, NY, she had also worked for Bradford and Addison Central School Districts in NY. Rosalie was born in Amityville, Long Island, NY, September 15, 1938, the daughter of Aloysius John and Virginia (McGunnnigle) Walsh. She was a graduate of Bethpage High School, Class of 1956, and received her Bachelor's Degree from SUNY Albany and a Master's Degree from C.W. Post College of Long Island University, NY. Rosalie was a parishioner at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Bradford, NY. She was very involved in many organizations; The Village Garden Club, Humane Society of Suffolk County, Catholic Daughters of America, S.P.C.A., Society for the Preservation of Long Island Antiquities, Concerned Citizens Awareness Group, Unionville Preservation Society, Steuben County Historical Society, "Save the Lyon" Commission and Retired Guidance Counselors. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Frank L. Niemczyk on August 20, 2004. She is survived by her sister Marion (Walsh) Gaigal of Marco Island, FL; cousins, Robert McGunnigle of Bath, NY, Kathleen (McGunnigle) Mukherjee of Rochester, NY, Agnes (McGunnigle) Dansereau of Greenport, Long Island, NY, Mary (McGunnigle) Specht of Setauket, Long Island, NY, Stephen McGunnigle of Cohocton, NY, Thomas McGunnigle of Peconic, Long Island, NY, Margaret Ann (McGunnigle) Chamberlin of Lynchburg, VA, Jack Walsh of Bath, NY, James Walsh of Binghamton, NY, Evie (Walsh) Hanning of Bath, NY, Roanne (Rottkamp) Costello of Long Island, NY, Mary Jean (Rottkamp) Smith of Long Island, NY, Joseph Rottkamp Jr. of Long Island, NY and Chris (Rottkamp) Anderson of Maine. She is also survived by several Niemczyk cousins. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday July 25, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. Stanislaus Church in Bradford with Father Pat Connor as celebrant. A graveside service and burial of her ashes will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Bath. Face masks are required and social distancing will be practiced.
