Ralph W. Heil, age 81, of Bath, NY passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the Bath VA Medical Center. He was born September 29, 1938 in Corry, PA the son of the late Frank J. and Loretta M. (Williams) Heil. Ralph was married to the love of his life Debby Heil on February 20, 1960 in York Maine, she predeceased him on May 29, 2015. He is survived by his children; Jeff (Heather) Heil of Bath, Julie (Roger) Santacroce of North Myrtle Beach, SC; grandsons, Brett (Tara) Santacroce of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Brenden Heil of Tampa, FL, Brady Santacroce of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Garrett Heil of Nashville, TN, great granddaughter Bexleigh Santacroce, special nieces Anne Marie Bryant, Rebecca Bryant and Tammy Bryant, best friend and loving God child, Lou-Anne (Bogardus) Holmes, as well as many close special friends.
Ralph was a retired independent Insurance Agent for Nationwide Insurance Company, out of Wayland, NY. He was a graduate of Penn Yan High School, Class of 1956, and he was a proud US Marine Veteran. He was the President of the Bath Little League years ago. Ralph was the Past President, twice District President and National President of the Jaycees. He was a life member of the Bath B.P.O.E. 1547 and the V.F.W. Post 1470 in Bath. Ralph was a past member of the Bath Country Club and had served on the Zoning Board in Bath. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed golfing, bowling and traveling.
Family and friends are invited to Memorial and Elks Services on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Bath VA Union Chapel followed by a military graveside service at 2:00 pm at the Bath National Cemetery and a celebration of his life at the Wooden Nickel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ralph's name may be made to the VA Voluntary Services designated for CLC Recreation Activities, 76 Veterans Ave. Bath, NY 14810.
