Obituary of Richard G. Swift

Richard 'Dick' G. Swift, age 84, of Cameron, NY passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Cameron, NY, January 13, 1936, the son of Jerald K. and Dorothy (Goodwin) Swift. Dick was an avid hunter, traveling all over the United States, as well as Mexico and various territories in Canada, to obtain his wild game. He enjoyed planting trees and cutting firewood. Dick was an all around outdoorsman. He was retired from Mercury Aircraft after 52 years of service and he was a US Navy Veteran. He was a life member of the NRA and The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He was also a member of the Bath V.F.W. Post 1470, the Springwater American Legion and the Sheep Foundation. Dick is survived by his children; Richard Swift of Cameron, NY, Karen Havens of Bath, NY and Uleta Swift of Ashland, MA, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and his brother Allen (Gail) Swift of Bath, NY. He was predeceased by his parents; sons, S.D. and Floyd Charles Swift, brother Jerald Swift and sister Jeanette. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in his name, may be made to the Care First Hospice.
