Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joseph Baroody, 84, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 after a short stay at Taylor Health Center in Bath. Born on January 4, 1936 to Thomas and Phoebe Baroody in Bath, NY. He was a graduate of Haverling High School and retired after 4 decades of service from Mercury Aircraft where he worked as a welder and plant supervisor. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He was a lifetime member of both the NRA and the Bath Rod and Gun Club. He scored a perfect 25 on his final round of skeet at the age of 83. On June 22, 1957, Joseph married his high school sweetheart, Janet Clark Baroody, and they enjoyed 62 years of marriage. Janet predeceased Joseph on December 26, 2019. His heart was broken by this loss and he yearned for the day that he would be reunited with the love of his life. Joseph is survived by his two sons, Joseph (Patricia) and Jeffrey (Shari), both of Bath and a sister, Ruth (Ralph) Kilsdonk of Dansville, NY and Zephyr Hills, FL. Joe was predeceased by his brothers, John, Ray, Leo, and George Baroody. Also, he is survived by brother in law and sister in law, Robert and Teresa Clark of Clearwater, FL. Grandchildren include Jessica (Nick) Plumley of Carlisle, PA, Jeffrey Baroody and Thomas (Holly) Baroody, both of Bath. Also, Katelyn Baroody of Oneonta, NY and Matthew Baroody of Rochester, NY. Joe had 5 great grandchildren, Emily and Cameron Plumley of Carlisle, PA, Xavier Baroody, Bath and Lucas and Hailey Baroody also of Bath. He also had many beloved nieces and nephews. There was nothing more important to Joseph than family and he lived his life sharing an abounding, selfless love and lived a life of integrity. If he owed you a dime, he would not rest until he paid it back. He believed in working for everything you got and instilled a strong work ethic to the entire family. He was never happier than when he was sitting across the room from Janet with a grandchild bouncing on his knee and a dog at his feet. Due to the COVID epidemic, private funeral services will be held by the family, entrusted to Fagan's Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of donations, the family asks that you honor Joe through an expression of love to your family.
