Arthur S. Ames Jr., age 75, of Bath, NY died Wednesday December 9, 2020 at the Albany Medical Center. He was born September 21, 1945 in Geneva, NY the son of late Arthur S. Sr. and Ida Mae (Faulkner) Ames. Art was a self employed Truck Driver. He was a past member of the Bath Volunteer Fire Department. Art was a US Marine Veteran from Vietnam and Purple Heart Recipient. Art enjoyed fishing and traveling with his wife and family. He was a member of the Bath B.P.O.E. 1547 and the Cruize N Time Car Club. He especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and fur grandbabies. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Doreen (Brown) Ames; children, Arthur S. III (Ashley) Ames, Carime Ames and Emily (Kevin) Leiter; grandchildren, Landin Ames and Aireanna, Jasmine and Zoe Leiter; brothers, Steve (Blanche) Ames and Sherman (Diane) Ames, sisters, Cheryl Ames and Stacey (Rodney) Lee, several nieces and nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his brothers Mike and Clayton Ames and sister Kimberly Ames. Visitation will be held on Wednesday December 16, 2020 from 3:00-5:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath. Followed by an Elks Service and Military Honors. His ashes will be buried in Bath National Cemetery. Memorial donations in his name may be made to the Finger Lakes SPCA, 72 Cameron St, Bath, NY 14810 and the Bath Elks Club, 19 Liberty St., Bath, NY 14810.
