Nancy Wohlbach Hogan posted a condolence
Monday, January 11, 2021
I am so sorry to hear about Dorothy Ann's passing. I have been thinking of her since mid December when I was sending out Christmas cards. In the past I had always sent her a card. I have been wondering if she was happy and healthy, and how her family was doing. Dorothy's mom, Dorothy Wohlbach McInerney, and my dad, James Wohlbach were cousins and we knew each other when we were young. We last saw each other at Aunt Betty Walters' funeral to which her son had taken her. I enjoyed spending time with her that day reminiscing about our younger years. She later called to say that she was moving into a retirement home but I never got her new address or phone number so when it was time to send Christmas cards, I was unable to contact her. I wish I had tried harder to get in touch with her. I want to thank her family for posting the obituary in Easton's Express Times so that those who cared for her here could see it. To her family and friends, I would like to say that I am so sorry for the loss of Dorothy Ann, such a beautiful person.
In sympathy, Nancy Wohlbach Hogan

Mom loved to sing, iron, teacher side-by-side how to bake, she loved to be the grandma it’s Sue Hilmann’s kindergarten class to help the little ones with her alphabet and whatever else they needed. She loved singing in the Corning Phil harmonic with Helen Kish ...
She loved to sing in the church choir, she loved Irish dancing, she and dad loved dancing in the living room, and the radio was always going in the kitchen while she baked and cooked dinner. It was always so sweet to see her put on fresh lipstick 20 minutes before dad walked through the door and he would walk through the door right into the kitchen to give his wife a kiss. She was a slow steady burn and extremely organized. She will be forever missed. Her sharp mind and sarcastic humor went along way the older she got! She died peacefully.

Mom loved to bake, sing, she loved teaching us to iron which we started out with dad’s hankies and pillowcases, she loved how to teach us to clean, how to bake side-by-side, how to set a table, how to read books.... She loved singing in the Corning Philharmonic choir with Mrs. Kish, and loved being a grandma to the little kindergartners for Sue Hillmans class helping them with their alphabet and whatever other needs they had.
She was always a slow steady burn and was always extremely organized. Her ice tea was well known for anyone who would stop in the summer to sit on the porch and chat for a bit.
She had a sweet tooth like none other and it’s amazing ...... AMAZING, especially me coming from the dental field that she died with all of her teeth! The two aunts that raised her, her father‘s two sisters made sure that she got braces when they were not wealthy at all. The last 3,years have been amazing for Mom and I to go out every Friday for lunch and/or a drive and always a photo shoot as most of you know! She will be missed the rest of my life.

This is Daniel Buck. My sister Vickie and brother Larry and myself went to school with you all at St. Mary’s. Our mothers kept in contact over the years. I just saw your Mother’s obituary while looking at my mothers as she passed away the next day on the third. My condolences to you all as we can totally relate to what you are feeling especially now that we all are without both of our parents! Such a sad coincidence that they both lost a son and left their family almost on almost the same day!

Thanks Jerry!! Loved your Mom! Her pizza lives on... my Afghan brings great comfort.
Trish Cullen Posted Jan 7, 2021 at 11:01 PM
Mom loved your family! I remember dad borrowing your dad’s accordion LOL. Your pizza recipe lives on and your mom’s Afghan that she sent to me and Dallas is also treasured. The dancing, the singing, the laughter, will always ring in my heart and in my mind! Thank you so much and I’m sorry for your loss as I know you are for ours.

Raised by loving aunts and doted upon by many aunts and uncles, mom had a full life. She loved becoming a mom and all things baby related. She and dad loved dancing and music in many forms. They would jitterbug in the living room on many occasions. And oh did they sing! Dad with a Barbershop Quartet, and mom in the church choir. She could also whistle to beat the band and often did while baking cookies or preparing meals. Mom was a devout Catholic and loved to hear mass in Latin.
Mom spent many years in contact with dear high school friends: Marilyn, Patty, Janie, Jean, Cathy, Verna, and more. These ladies shared a special bond (and card club for years!) and the memories shared recently have brought much comfort.
Family and long time friends in Easton, Bath and beyond will miss mom dearly.
Keep her in your hearts and in your memories.

Dorothy was a beautiful lady and we will always remember her and Hank at so many of the K of C and St Mary’s functions. She had a smile that would light up a room. May your family be comforted that she is again reunited with Hank and your loved ones in heaven. Deacon Bob and Pam Colomaio.
