Obituary of Clarence H. Sherrod

Clarence H. Sherrod, age 67, of Bath, NY died Thursday, March 4, 2021 at home. He was born February 6, 1954 in Coolidge, GA., the son of the late Lonnie and Louvenia (Welch) Sherrod. He was a US Army Vietnam Era Veteran where he was a Cav Scout from 1974-1983. Clarence was a member of the Bath Baptist Church. He recently retired from the Bath VA Medical Center where he worked for 33 years. Clarence enjoyed being a camp counselor and camping and hiking with his kids and family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he will be remembered as a hard working man who was always there to provide for his family. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife Julia M. Sherrod; children Heather Sherrod, Thomas (Tori) Sherrod, April (Landon) Fletcher and Austin Sherrod and grandchildren, Aurora, Logan, Emili, and Josiah (Heather); Harmon and Kylie-Jo (Thomas); Madison and Finnian (April); his siblings, Donald, David, Roy, Virginia, Nancy, Evelyn and Linda and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Harold and Samuel Sherrod and sister Winifred Hopkins. Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 10:00 am -12:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath, NY. Private graveside services will be held in Bath National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to the Charles E. Wescott Post 173 American Legion in Bath, NY.
