Obituary of Sue M Jones

Sue M. Jones (Woolever/Alger) went peacefully home to be with the Lord on August 4, 2021. Born August 20, 1931 in Rochester, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles & Gladys (Jones) Alger. Surviving are her four loving children, (2 sons & 2 daughters) Richard P. Woolever (Debra), & Robert C. Woolever, Kim P. Austin (David) and Lynn C. Hill (Robert); three step sons - Stephen Jones (Dawn), Daniel Jones (Karen) and Alan Jones (Sherry); her sister Nancy M. Fleet (Hill/Alger); her many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two loving and devoted husbands Paul L. Woolever (in 1977) and Bernard B. Jones (in 2018). She worked at Ketch Krest Dairy as a young mom and provided a loving home while raising her children. She was a baker at Haverling Central High School for many years; worked in dietetics at the Bath VA and was also a Home Health Aide in Bath. She was a member and actively involved in the Bath Baptist Church for many years, and in later years attended the United Methodist Church in Kanona, NY. She loved to sing, tend to her beautiful flower beds, crochet, square dance, play bingo, read and create crafts that decorated her home. She touched the lives of all who knew her. Her family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Country Valley Home in Bath for providing such a loving and caring “Home” for her during her three year stay there, and for providing Buddy (mom’s cat) with a permanent and loving home; the nurses and staff of Kindred for the care they provided while mom resided at Country Valley Home; and to the many nurses and staff members at Taylor SNF in Bath for their attentive and loving care during mom’s final months. Calling hours will be at Fagan’s Funeral Home in Bath on August 9 from 1:00 to 2:00 with a memorial service immediately following. Burial will be private at Nondaga Cemetery in Bath, NY. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
