Obituary of Robert M Townsend

Robert M. Townsend, age 85, of Bath died Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY. Robert was born July 26, 1936 in Wheeler, NY. He is the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Walker) Townsend. In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Dollie Townsend and brother, William Townsend, and sister Betty Damoth. Robert worked for Taylor Wine Company as a supervisor for 37 years. He enjoyed his lawn ornament business that he and Dollie ran out of their home for 14 years. Robert and his wife loved to travel the country and enjoyed summers on Keuka Lake for over 50 years. He is survived by son Timothy (Barbara) Townsend from Huntsville, Texas and daughter Kathie (Scott) Salemme from Hammondsport, NY: sisters: Dorothy Hobbs and Ferolyn Swain; 5 grandchild; Sara, Joseph and Matthew Townsend and Alexander and Nicholas Salemme; 3 great grandchildren; Arianna, Alexandra and Derrick. Calling hours will be at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath on Tuesday, August 10 from 10:00 to 11:00am with a funeral service immediately following. Burial will be at Clearview Cemetery in North Cohocton NY. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
