Vera E. Robbins left us on August 29, 2021 after a brief illness. Vera was born August 31, 1923 to Gladys and Homer Thayer. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Albert, sister Jeanne Cleland; two sons, Matthew and Michael McConnell and a grandson Lucas McConnell. She enjoyed a long active life. Loved snowmobiling, riding scooters and especially playing cards and games, where Grandma's rules were always followed. She retired from Westinghouse after 20+ years. Vera was a member of the Kanona Methodist Church and a 49 year member of the Charles E. Wescott American Legion Post 173 Auxiliary. She and Al spent winters in Florida for 20 years, making many good friends and fond memories.
She is survived by her children; Jacquelyn (Bob) Hennigan, Rodrick (Mary) McConnell, Patricia Comstock and Kathryn Colleen (Kirt) Gleason; daughters-in-law, Cindy and Rebecca McConnell, 19 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her charitable nature, her cookie baking and for making the best pickles you ever ate. If you knew her, you know how much she will be missed. Please no flowers (she's allergic) instead donate to a charity of your choice. Calling hours will be held at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 11:00-2:00 with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 pm and burial in Nondaga Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Bath American Legion.
