Obituary of Roberta Jane Rook

Roberta “Berty” Jane Rook, 77, of Bath, New York, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her immediate family and loved ones on September 2, 2021. She is survived by her children; Steve (Amy) Buchanan of Rochester, Ted Rook Jr. of Springwater, Paula Gleason of Ilion, Jenny (Phil) Alvord of Canisteo, Pam (Grady) Reppert of Cohocton, Sheryl Rook (Bill) of Addison, Karen Eaton of Canisteo, Brian (Deni) Rook of Bath, Rosanna (Chris) Argay of Canisteo, 24 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Her brothers, Clinton Buchanan, Lewis Buchanan, twin brother, Raymond “Bucky” Buchanan, and sisters, Laura Rowland, Julia Kissel, Doris House and Dorothy Miles, granddaughter, Sarah Jennette and son-in-law, Dale Eaton preceded her in death. Roberta was born on July 8, 1944, in Urbana, New York, to Raymond and Gladys (Smith) Buchanan. She was a long-time resident of both Atlanta and Bath, New York. Roberta was a stay-at-home mother of nine children. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed diamond painting, puzzles, and going to yard sales along with adding to her love of her tweety-bird collection, loved listening to her wind chimes and listening to the birds sing in the morning. She loved her companion dog Sophie who never left her side, sitting outside with her friends Nancy and Judy, and her morning phone calls with her niece Lois each morning. Family and friends are invited to the visitation from 1:00-2:00 pm and memorial service at 2:00 pm on Saturday September 11, 2021 at the Kanona United Methodist Church with Pastor Ruth Reppert officiating.
