Marvin T. Smith, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, November 7th 2021 at the age of 56. "Marty" was born June 22nd, 1965 in Norwalk, Connecticut to Nancy (Beers) Robinson and Marvin C. Smith. He was the oldest of two children, growing up in Bath, New York Marty made a life time career in the municipal truck equipment industry beginning at Steuben Supply in the early 80's. He worked for Seneca Supply and Basic Hydraulics for a number of years before opening his own business, Smart Systems, in 2005. He was well respected business man in the community, receiving Business Person of the Year from the Greater Bath Area Chamber of Commerce in 2008. Most recently, he was a Technical Sales Consultant for Bosch Rexroth Canada. He was highly regarded for his knowledge in mobile hydraulics across the United States and Canada. His fun loving personality will be missed by his family and friends. He is predeceased by his first wife Jeannie (Lodge) Smith. He is survived by his mother Nancy (Beers) Robinson, father Marvin C. Smith, Step Father Tim Robinson and younger brother David (Cory) Smith. He is also survived by his loving wife of 29 years Marcy (Loucks) Smith and two children, Kyle (Lisa) Smith and Casey Smith. Marty was a dedicated "Papa" and loved spending time with his 4 grandchildren Scarlett, Kylie, Brock, and Morgan. Marty was passionate about the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a charter captain on Keuka Lake in the 90's and enjoyed chasing Salmon and Trout in the regional tributaries. His hunting interests ranged from white tail deer to water foul, turkey, and pheasants. He was a proud member of Ducks Unlimited (DU), National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), and White Tails Unlimited organizations for many years. He enjoyed many years of camping with family and friends and was no stranger to the cornhole board. He also enjoyed golfing, RC airplanes, and most recently gardening. Calling hours will be held Monday, November 15th at Fagans Funeral Home in Bath, NY from 5-7pm and also Tuesday, November 16th from 11am-1pm with a service immediately following.
