Obituary of Pamela Leach

Please share a memory of Pamela to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Pamela Carol Leach, 67, passed away peacefully at home on June 23, 2022, with family and
friends by her side. She was born in Corning, New York on September 26, 1954, to Lloyd H. and
Anna Leach. She graduated from Haverling Central School in Bath, New York in 1972 and
attended Corning Community College.
Her professional career was spent at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Bath, New
York, where she worked for 31 years. Pam began her career in 1975 working in Domicliary
Services. She then moved on to Fiscal Service where she honed her clerical and accounting
skills. Then a promotion to Medical Administrative Service and subsequently to the Medical VA
Service, where she retired as a respected and dedicated employee. After her retirement, Pam
spent time volunteering with the Southern Tier Rural Health Clinic, transposing medical records
from paper to E-charts.
She loved her schnauzer dogs, Gretchen and Heidi. They were a very important part of her life.
She took them with her whenever possible including camping trips! They were the first to greet
Pamela’s house guests. Those fur babies were followed by Sadie, who also wove herself into the
fabric of Pam’s life.
When it came to family, Pamela was always ready to join in family affairs whether it be camping
at Sampson State Park or a large get together for someone’s birthday. Christmas was especially
special for her. She combined her love of dogs with family by always being available to dog-sit
when needed…as long as they didn’t mind getting a spoiled dog back. She also enjoyed getting
together with her friends for a variety of occasions. Pam was known by friends and family as a
person with unique collections that included Winnie the Pooh, giraffes, and lighthouses. Pam
loved sunflowers and she filled her home with them when they were in season.
She is survived by her brothers David (Margaret) Leach of Rochester, Robert (Nancy) Leach of
Jacksonville, NY, and sister Christine Wallace of Wethersfield, CT, nieces and nephews: Karen
(Leach) and Michael Ierlan of Victor, NY, Courtney Bennett of Wethersfield, CT, William (Shanon)
Bennett of Jamestown, NY ,Eric (Bethli) Leach of Thonotosassa, FL, , Amy (Leach) and Nick Moe
