Obituary of Harvey Homer Holmes

Harvey Homer Holmes (Homer), age 66, of Savona, NY, died Thursday, September 22, 2022 at the Bath V.A.M.C.  He was born in Bath, NY March 4, 1956, He is predeceased by his father Francis Holmes and survived by (step mother Ginger Holmes). He is also predeceased by his mother Audrey (Corbitt) Holmes (Bob Mills). Harvey graduated from Savona High School, Class of 1975, and was on the wrestling team in high school. He was a US Navy Veteran.  Harvey worked as a welder at Clark's Specialty in Bath, NY.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed riding horseback. He was a member, and the Sergeant at Arms at the Campbell American Legion Post 1279.  Harvey loved spending time with his family, his dog Matty and being part of the community.

He is survived by his daughters; Jennifer (Michael) Hargrave and Angela (Jason) Smith; grandchildren, Ethan, Damien, Grace, Owen, Natasha, Geoffrey and Greggery, sisters, Teri (Spike) Winnie, Suzie (Rick) Thomas, Chris Lewis (Chris Wallace) and Kim Jessup; brothers, Francis (Melissa) Holmes and Carl (Carol) Holmes and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents and brother Alan Holmes.

A Military Graveside Service for the family will be held at the Bath National Cemetery on Monday October 3, 2022 at 1:00pm. The community and friends are invited to join the family at the Campbell American Legion Post 1279 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm, Monday October 3, 2022 for a "Celebration of Homer's Life". While flowers are welcome, the family asks that any donations be sent to the Campbell Savona Booster Club, 8455 County Route 125, Campbell, NY 14821 to help support the wrestling team.
