Tom---sorry that I wasn't able to be at the calling hours or services today for your mom. I had a bride and groom coming to plan their wedding this afternoon (I'm the Village Justice and that is part of my work), so was tied up here in Watkins Glen and couldn't get to Bath for the services. Sorry for I sure would liked to have been there to see you again. Do you remember coming through the fence between my grandfather's property, through Mary Betty's, and onto your yard so we could play together. It seems we had a little "fort" in your back yard for just you and I. One day we smoked cigarettes and your mother came out and wondered what we were doing. I guess we kind of got away with that, but I'm sure your Mom knew what we were doing. We did other things, too, but guess we never got caught.
