Obituary of Harvey George Doolittle

Harvey George Doolittle, age 77, of Savona, NY and formerly Bath, NY, died Friday March 17, 2023 at the Bath VAMC with his family by his side.  Harvey was born in Bath, NY on December 18, 1945 the son of the late Harvey Leo and Mercy (Cole) Doolittle. He had worked at the Bath Post Office, the Bath VAMC and worked as a server for many local businesses. He was an avid Buffalo Bills and Boston Red Sox fan.  Harvey was a member of the  Charles E. Wescott Post 173 American Legion, Bath B.P.O.E. 1547 and the Bath V.F.W. Post 1470.  He was a US Marine Vietnam Veteran.  

He is survived by his wife Monica Doolittle; step children, Edgar Cartas, Monica (Caleb McGuire) McGuire Cartas, and Romina Cartas; sisters, Linda (Kevin) Lynch and Hope (Larry) Cook and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and his dog Marine.  He was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Mary Gleason, Jay B. Chase, Luella Smith and Robert Doolittle.

Family and friends are invited to Fagan's Funeral Home on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 1:00-2:00 pm for the visitation and a memorial service at 2:00 pm.  A military graveside service will follow at the Bath National Cemetery at 3:00 pm.
