We always knew him as "Uncle Steve". He was the one who helped us fish, along with my dad, grandpa or uncle. He always asked if we wanted to go on boat rides, plan fishing times, or games at Lamoka Lake. He helped fill our weekends with fun activities and made sure weren't ever bored. He also helped the Chaffees with the upkeep on our part of the lake and driveway. There was almost a guarantee the Caparco's were next door when we drove to our cottage. He continued the traditional fishing lessons with my daughter. Time at the lake always includes memories with Steve. Everyone needs an "Uncle Steve." He is forever loved and missed.
Love from the Kraemer's; Charina, Deryk and Lily.

We were so sad to hear of Steve’s passing.
We have so many wonderful memories from our Lamoka Lake house, and most of them include the best neighbors in the world, Steve and Pam! Steve was always there to lend a hand if anyone needed it. We first met him when he brought us a bag of candles because he knew we had lost power, and it was very dark. That was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
We enjoyed many campfires and dinners together, hearing stories about softball, hunting, his daughters travel (He was so proud of Lindy, and just beamed when he shared details of her trip to India with Mahatma Gandhi’s grandson), and of course, anything going on around the lake that we may have missed. We loved hearing about the wildlife he spotted, like the bear that tried to swim across the channel, or the cute family of foxes, or the pesky beaver that kept building a dam.
He introduced our daughter, Alli to water skiing, and offered up his waterfront for ice skating on the lake. (We all had a good laugh when Jim fell in - just a little bit!) He even took our whole family on his pontoon boat to go under the bridge to “Disneyland” because our boat wouldn’t fit. I wish I had better photos, but I love that these show him behind the scenes doing things that made him (and everyone around him) happy.
We will always cherish our memories at the Lake with Steve and Pam. Steve made his mark on this world, and will be greatly missed.
Love Always, Tracey, Jim and Alli
