Obituary of Andrew Peter Lukacko

Andrew Lukacko, a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, recently passed away at age 92. After graduating from Hammondsport Central School, he enlisted in the USAF, serving 20 years and retiring with honors. Andrew was stationed in many places throughout the United States and Europe, including Vietnam for which he received the Air Force Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service. Following his military retirement, he worked many years to retire also from the Hammondsport Central School. Andrew was a member of St. Gabriel’s Church, Air Force Sergeants Association, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, and Elks Lodge.

 

Andrew is survived by his wife Herta, daughters Catherine and Janet, granddaughter Anna, and his sisters Martha and Joan. He was predeceased by his brothers Michael and Anthony, and sisters Helen, Mary, Julia and Pauline.

 

Family and friends are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial which will take place at 11:00 a.m. December 7, 2023 at St. Gabriel’s Church, Hammondsport and to his interment with full military honors at the Bath National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
