Obituary of Shirley J. Talada

Shirley J. Talada, age 94, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2024 at Hornell Gardens Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for the past 14 years.

Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was born in Lithchfield Township, Bradford County. PA on August 12, 1929 to her  parents, Alfred and Goldie Munn.  She worked for many years at the Smith-Corona plant in Cortland, NY and retired from there as a receptionist. She was a Life Member of Homer, NY Chapter 222 Order of the Eastern Star.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harry A Talada in 1996 after 47 years of marriage, her son Richard Talada, brothers Levere Munn, Glen Munn and sisters Phyllis Predmore and Lucille Foley.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Ted) Binley, sister-in-law Janice Munn, brother-in-laws John (Dora) Talada, Jim Foley, grandchildren Amy (Steve) Duvanich, Brenda (Jamie) Baker, great-grandchildren, Olivia, Nicole, Julia Duvanich, Ryan and Jenna Baker, many nieces and nephews and her close friend, Ellen Cowburn.

A private family burial will be in the Tioga Point Cemetery in Athens, PA at a later date.
