Jessie Ares Johnson, 83, a beacon of love and wisdom, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2024, in Powhatan, VA under the care of Legacy Hospice, after a valiant journey with dementia. Born on November 17, 1940, in Shickshinny, Pennsylvania, Jessie's early years were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family, including her parents, Jess and Daisy Ares, her brothers David Ares and Raymond Warner, and her sister Dolores Fuller.

Jessie's intelligence and kind spirit shone brightly throughout her life. She pursued her education at Alfred State College, where she laid the foundation for her future achievements. Her career was marked by dedication and excellence as she rose to the position of Laboratory Supervisory at Chippenham Hospital.

Jessie's passions extended beyond her family and career. She was an avid quilter, often creating beautiful pieces that reflected her meticulous nature and artistic flair.

She is survived by her brother David (Elizabeth) husband Robert, sons Mark (Elizabeth) and Gregg (Joy) and her grandchildren and great-grandchild.
