Obituary of Bonnie Ann Parmelee

Bonnie Ann Parmelee, 81, passed away peacefully on November 26 , with her loving daughter, Michelle by her side, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Known for her boundless kindness, Bonnie brought warmth, humor, and compassion to everyone she met. Her thoughtful nature left a lasting impact on friends, family, and colleagues alike.

Bonnie was predeceased by her brother, Terry Parmelee, parents,  Doris  & John Milliron and loving sweet yorkie, Lexi.

After graduating from Prattsburgh Central School, Bonnie continued professional learning  taking several accounting & management classes.  She worked for many years at Gold Seal Winery in sales at the shipping & transportation unit.  She was the first woman to join the Corning/Elmira Traffic Club.  With the closing of the winery, Bonnie started working at Campbell-Savona Central School in the District Office where she retired. She enjoyed being a class advisor, working with the superintendent and helped assist  employees setting up a variety of savings accounts. As a dedicated professional, Bonnie was known for her unwavering work ethic. She inspired those around her through her commitment, thoughtfulness, and enthusiasm in all she pursued.  

After retiring, Bonnie worked part-time at the Dorman Library to stay active as well as working at the local elections, playing cards, gardening and attending St. James Episcopol Church in Hammondsport where she ushered and volunteered at community dinners. Bonnie was also a long standing member of the Charles E. Wescott Post 173 American Legion Auxiliary.

Outside of work, Bonnie’s love of travel took her to beautiful destinations (Israel, Egypt, Ireland, Italy, Greece, France, Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii, Caribbean & many states ), near and far, where she cherished new experiences and connections.

Bonnie is survived by her only daughter, (Michelle & partner David)and  several close friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

In observance, calling hours will be at Fagan’s Funeral Home in Bath, NY on Tuesday, 12/03 from 3pm - 5pm.  Her family invites those who loved Bonnie to celebrate her life at a service on Wednesday, 12/04 at 10:30am St. James Episcopal Church(Main & Lake Street) in Hammondsport, NY.  

 Immediately following will be a luncheon at the American Legion in Bath, New York from 12pm to 4pm. Please join us and share special memories.

In lieu of flowers,  memorial donations in her name may be  made to  FirstCare NY - Hospice Support which services local counties in (Chemung, Steuben & Schuyler) for hospice services.  Bonnie’s kindness, passion, and dedication will be dearly missed.
