My deepest sympathy to the whole Kolo family. I remember Ray not only as the father of a wonderful family of friends but as a gentle giant who exhibited a quiet presence and effortless strength. Ray seemed immortal. His beautiful obituary exemplifies the shared love of his family, friends and local community who knew him well.

i have been very fortunate to have met grandson peter and his dad. seeing this picture of raymond, i see him in both peter and his dad. with what has been said in this incredible obituary, it is obvious that i met two of the kolo's without a doubt. in this and in some way i have met raymond also.
what joy for me it has been to meet peter and his father, what a joy and what a blessing for me. in them is raymond and in them is great example of raymond, it has to be, they have his blood.
i say this often, our creator was pretty clever, gave us a memory, ears, eyes and nose to smell with, also hands to touch and hearts to feel with. i lost my dad in 2013, i miss him dearly yet when i close my eyes and think about him, he appears in my mind and heart, i can see him, i can smell him and i can hear him and feel him in my heart, like he is with me, i just can't touch him. this one thing is tough to not be able to do, as a human.
my point is we do die but we are not dead, we live on in people's memories and our energy is kept alive with stories that we tell about those that have left us not being able to touch them.
raymond will live on as long as those who loved and knew him continue feeding and spreading his energy into life as we know it. close your eyes and think about a loved one, it may be sad for a minute, then the laughter comes recalling that person and how much they are in you trying to come out through you.
honor raymond by never forgetting him and think about you never having him in your life at all. i guess the blessing of raymond will continue. i wish i would have had him in my life. it is a time of sorrow for us who breath, for raymond it is time for resting and watching us live life, like he did.

A giant among men, both literally and figuratively, Ray Kolo set an example. With an unmatched work ethic, integrity, excellence, and love for family he approached each day as an empty vessel meant to be filled with hard work, family, and a little fun. I am so glad I got to know him professionally and personally.
I am comforted knowing his life will continue to impact mine through my friendships with Bob, Sharon, Ron and the family. Rest in Peace Ray, you finished the job, and no one could have done it better.

Although I never had the pleasure to meet Ray, I feel his presence through his daughter Brenda who seems to share his quick wit and big heart. Rest amongst the stars Ray as you keep the “bird’s eye view”!
