Rosalie A. McCartney of Bath, New York, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025 at the age of 66. Born July 30, 1958, in Bath, New York, she was the daughter of William and Margaret Davy.

She is survived by her son John, his wife Liz, and their daughter Olivia, her siblings Stephen (Nancy) Davy, Maria (Paul) Bauter, her nephew Michael Davy, her niece Carolyn (Jeff) Hess, their children Cole and Sadie, her nephew Mark (Carolyn) Bauter, her niece Kristina (Benjamin) Bauter; and many other loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and relatives. Rosalie is predeceased by her beloved husband Michael and her brother Richard (Margie) Davy.

Rosalie was a proud graduate of Haverling High School and Elmira College. She was a dedicated and inspiring teacher at Bath Central School District for over 20 years. Many of her fondest memories were with her education family at Dana L. Lyon Elementary and Vernon E. Wightman Primary schools. Beyond the classroom, she was a mentor, a role model, and a steadfast supporter of her school community. Her legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of the many students, colleagues, and families she inspired.

Rosalie will be remembered as a talented and generous soul who shared love and comfort through her cooking. Known for her warm hospitality and remarkable culinary skills, she brought people together around the table, creating unforgettable meals and cherished memories. For years, she catered events for family, friends, and her community, pouring her heart into every dish. Whether it was a grand celebration or a simple meal for a neighbor in need, Rosalie found joy in nourishing others. Her recipes, like her spirit, were a source of warmth, joy, and connection. She leaves behind a legacy of love and flavor that will be missed but never forgotten.

Rosalie shared a deep love of animals and spent much of her life advocating for their care and well-being. She was also deeply committed to supporting cancer research and wellness programs, a cause close to her heart as both a breast cancer survivor and after losing her beloved husband, Michael to cancer. Contributions in her memory will continue the work she held dear, providing care, hope, and healing to animals and individuals alike.

As we say goodbye to Rosalie, we take comfort in the love and memories she shared with everyone who knew her. Her kindness, strength, and warmth will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. In honor of her love of Tigger, “Life is not about how fast you run or how high you climb, but how well you bounce.” May we honor her legacy by carrying forward her compassion, resilience, and boundless spirit.
