Bath, NY Earl Jack Conklin Jr., age 90, of Bath, NY died March 28, 2015 at the Geisinger Hospital in Danville, PA. He was born January 26, 1925 in Elmira, NY the son of Earl Jack and Julia (Wagner) Conklin. Jack was a World War II Pioneer and Fourth Division Marine Veteran, he was a receipient of several Purple Heart awards. He was a survivor of Iwo Jima and a part of 15 invasions in the Pacific. Jack was a builder, designer and an expert at all aspects of construction. He authored several books and patented several inventions. He was a Pilot and an overall entrepreneur of everything. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bath where he was a past deacon and trustee. He was a member of the Charles E. Wescott American Legion Post 173, V.F.W. Post 1475, Disabled American Veterans, Bath Rotary Club, Bath Kiwanis Club, Marine Corps League and he was also on the committee that created the Purple Heart Stamp. Jack had been the Grand Marshall of the Bath VAMC Veterans Day Parade for many years. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, always a gentleman and mentor to many. He has gone to join his beloved wife Peggy who predeceased him on February 18, 2010 and he was also predeceased by his daughter Becky Allen. He is survived by daughter, June Dregsig, sons; Earl Jack (Gail) Conklin and Spencer (Laura) Conklin; grandchildren, James, Jeremy and Joshua Allen, Spencer Jr., Zachariah, Dillon and Trevor Conklin, Sally, Veronica and Crissy, and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brothers, Raymond, Donny and Ralph Conklin and sisters, Shirley and Margie. Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 1, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Bath. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am followed by a luncheon at the church. Burial will be held at 1:00 pm at the Bath National Cemetery with Military Honors.
