Helen H. Strong, age 94 of Bath, NY, died Friday April 3, 2015 at Ira Davenport Hospital. Born in Manhattan, NY on February 11, 1921, she was the daughter of the late George and the late Minna (Nickel) Hedren. She was a homemaker. Helen married Carlyle Strong in 1945 in Savona, NY. He predeceased her in 1995. Helen was also predeceased by a brother, George (Elsie) Hedren. Helen is survived by her sons; Richard (Michelle) Strong and William (Becky) Strong and daughter-in-law, Melissa Kusowski; seven grandchildren, Garrett, Connor, Logan, Nicholas and Brendan Strong, Jennifer (David) Dueringer, and Michael Kusowski Jr. ; two great-grandchildren, Alexa and Jaxon Dueringer. She is also survived by nieces and nephews; Carolyn (Richard) Scaife, David Hedren and great nieces and nephews, Kelly (PJ) Emerick, Michael (Olivia) Crossett and Tracy Swake. She leaves behind special friends Phyllis (Bill) Lux, Doris and Tony Shelley and Donna Skelly. Family and friends are invited to one hour of visitation from 10:00-11:00 am followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am on Saturday May 9, 2015 at the Centenary United Methodist Church in Bath. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to contribute in her memory may do so to the Finger Lakes SPCA, 7315 State Route 54, Bath, NY 14810. Burial will be in the Bath National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
