John Joseph Miller, age 81, of Bath, NY died May 24, 2015 at home. He was born August 12, 1933 the son of Anna and Leon Miller. He graduated from Haverling Central School in 1952. He married Esther Sullivan May 21, 1955 and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary May 21, 2015. John had worked for Farmers and Mechanic's Bank and retired from Bath Electric Gas and Water Company after 30 years of service. He also worked for the Apple Barrel in his retirement. He was an avid antique and coin collector and enjoyed watching nascar races and football games and playing cards and caning chairs. He was a charter member and 4th degree knight of the Bath Assembly of Knights of Columbus Council 5147. He worked BINGO for the Knights of Columbus for over forty years. He is survived by his loving wife Esther Miller and daughter, Susan Miller (Mary Anne Bongiovanni), nephew Steven (Colleen) VanGelder and niece Natalie (Rick) Pygott. He was predeceased by his parents Anna and Leon Miller and baby daughter Brenda Sue Miller. Calling hours will be held on Friday May 29th from 1:00-3:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath, NY. A memorial mass of Christian burial will be held 4:00 pm on Friday at St. Mary's Church, , Bath, NY with Father James Jaeger celebrant assisted by Deacon Dave Lafortune. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1316 College Avenue, Elmira, NY 14901 or a charity of your choice.
