Obituary of Betty Jane Decker

Betty Jane Barker Decker, age 83, of Cameron Mills, NY, died Friday, July 17, 2015 at the Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital of Bath, NY. She was born September 9, 1931 in Cameron, NY the daughter of James K. Sr. and Elizabeth M. (Koon) Barker. Betty was a member of the Risingville United Methodist Church and attended the Kanona United Methodist Church. She married William G. Decker on December 31, 1951 who predeceased her in February 1988. Her main interest throughout life encompassed the love she shared for her family and home. She is survived by her daughter, Jane (Dean Sr.) VanSkiver of Cameron Mills, NY; two grandchildren, Dean "DJ" Jr. (Sarah) VanSkiver of Cameron Mills, NY and Bethany (Jim Travis) VanSkiver of Cameron Mills, NY; great granddaughters, Morgan and Madison VanSkiver and special family members Sandra Gardiner and Skylar Dugan, sister-in-law, Veda Barker and brother-in-law, Richard Loucks Sr.; nephews, Rick (Sharon), Randy, Ronnie, Rex (Shirley) and Russell Loucks and Jimmy (Shelley) Barker; neices, Betty Jean (Bob) Gilbert, Ronda (Brian) Grant, Roxy (Dave) Thompson, Becky (Mike) VanSickles, Joanne (Ed) Davis, Julie (Jim) Mitchell and Jill (Bernie Wood) Barker, many great and great great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband William Decker, parents James Sr. and Elizabeth Koon Barker, brothers, Richard and James Jr. Barker; sisters, Inez Loucks and Nora Gardiner and brother-in-law, Raymond Gardner and nephews, Rod Loucks and Jack Barker. Family and friends are invited to call at Fagan's Funeral Home on Monday July 20, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 pm and Tuesday, July 21st from 1:00-3:00 pm with funeral services to follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Kathy Dye and Pastor Alan Jones officiating. Burial will be in Townline Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donation in Betty's name may be made to the Kanona United Methodist Church, PO Box 174, Kanona, NY 14856 and the Cameron Vol. Fire Department Ambulance Corps, PO Box 1993, Cameron, NY 14819.
