Obituary of Albert C. Robbins

Albert C. Robbins, 85, of Robbins Road, Bath, NY passed away early Saturday morning August 1, 2015 at the Steuben Center for Rehabilitation and Health Care. He was born May 2, 1930 on the family farm on Robbins Road where he farmed most of his life. He was the son of the late Joseph K. and Ethel (Knowles) Robbins. He married his loving wife Vera McConnell September 3, 1966. He was a member of the Kanona Methodist Church for 70 years. He served as a former trustee, board member and member of the Kanona Methodist Men's Club. He enjoyed his family, friends, bowling, snowmobiling, moped rides, hunting, playing cards, and was able to spend winters in Florida for 20 years. He was predeceased by his sister, Norma Freeman and brother, Joseph E. Robbins. He is survived by his sisters, Thelma Covert; Gretta (James) Preston and brother, Harold (Patricia) Robbins and his many loving nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Vera's children, Jacki (Bob) Hennigan, Rodrick (Mary) McConnell, Matthew (Cindy) McConnell, Patricia Comstock, Michael (Becky) McConnell and Colleen (Kurt) Gleason who were proud to call him "Big Dad" and will miss his smiling eyes and kind nature. Over 30 grandchildren call him "Grandpa". Calling hours are from 1:00 - 3:00 PM on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Fagan's funeral Home, 31 West Morris Street, Bath, NY. Funeral services will be held following calling hours at 3:00 PM. Pastor Alan Jones will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Nondaga Cemetery, Bath, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kanona United Methodist Church, PO Box 174, Kanona, NY 14856.
