Obituary of Joyce Ann Brown

Joyce Ann Brown, age 78, of Bath, NY, died Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Guthrie Corning Hospital. She was born October 3, 1937 in Bradford, NY the daughter of Barnett R. and Merle Elizabeth (Parsnow) Taylor. Joyce retired from Philips Lighting in Bath and she also worked at several local restaurants. She was a life member of the Hammondsport American Legion Post 407and the Bath V.F.W. 1470. Joyce loved to play Bingo and go camping with her family and sharing stories around the bon fire. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by two sons, Doug Taylor and Randy (Louise) Taylor both of Bath, NY; stepsons, LaVerne 'Chip' E. Brown Jr. of Bath and Carl Brown of Savona, NY; step daughters, Cheryl Karns of Bath and Kathy Spangberg of Campbell, 7 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren, her sister Caroline (Clyde Sr.) Allen of Corning, NY, sister-in-law, Delores Barlow of Georgia and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by the love of her life Laverne E. Brown Sr., five brothers, Barnett Jr., Eugene, Henry, Arnold and Howard Taylor and two sisters, Lillian Farrand and Nora Dixon. Family and friends may call on Wednesday April 13, 2016 from 12:00-1:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at the Bath National Cemetery at 2:00 pm and a reception will follow at the Bath VFW.
