Katherine Theresa (Madigan) Cripps, 60, of Rochester, lost her battle with cancer on Monday, April 25, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born October 15, 1955 in Buffalo, NY to parents Janet M. (English) and Thomas J. Madigan, Kathy grew up in Corning NY and graduated from Corning East High School (1973) and Corning Community College (1975). She married Michael Cripps in November 1991, and lived in Rochester. Her greatest pride and joy was being mother to daughter, Emily Ann. Kathy's courage and fighting spirit during her cancer diagnosis and treatment was an inspiration. In addition to her husband and daughter, Kathy is survived by mother Janet, brother Michael (Patricia) Madigan of Brewerton, NY, and three sisters of Corning, NY: Patricia Madigan (David Trimble), Rosemary Madigan-Strong (Clifford), and Ann (Steve) Campbell, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Tom, and brother, John. A memorial service will be held at Fagans Funeral home in Bath, NY on Sunday, May 1 at 1pm, followed by a casual reception at the Madigan home on Keuka Lake. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kathy's memory to the Lipson Cancer Center, Rochester General Hospital, 1425 Portland Avenue, Rochester, NY 14621
