Obituary of Eldon V. Hough
Eldon V. Hough, of Bath, NY passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer Thursday, May 24, 2012 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Bath to Alice (Storms) and Fletcher Hough, February 4, 1935.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years Marian (Lathrop); son, Edward of Prattsburgh and granddaughter Brianna Fowler and son Riccee (Beth Kelley) of Jensen Beach, FL and granddaughters, Tara Quiliche and Tatum Kelley, daughter, Sherry (Larry) Ferree of Orange, TX and grandsons, Jared and Jeffery Ferree and granddaughter Jennifer Ferree, daughter, Denice (JR) Lewis of Prattsburgh and grandsons Cody (fiancee Kaity) Lewis and Cameron Lewis and granddaughter Caitlin Lewis. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, one sister Linda Webster of Elmira, mother-in-law, Mary Catherine Talbot, brothers-in-law, Roy and Roger Lathrop and sister-in-law, Susan Stell and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers Fremona, Laverne, Bill and Lyle and sisters; Norma, Arlene and Helen.
He worked at Taylor Great Western Winery for 39 years until its closing in 1984. He was well known locally as a drummer, keyboard player and singer for over 20 years with the Country Squires Band, a good standing member of the American Legion and former Hammondsport Moose Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Nascar, watching football and gardening with a special love of growing hybrid iris and most importantly spending time with his grandchildren.
Friends may call on Tuesday May 29th from 1:00-3:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home with Reverend Jeff Mc Dowell officiating.
Burial will be in the Nondaga Cemetery.
