Obituary of Robert G. Norton

Robert G. Norton, age 85, of Bath, NY, died Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center of Elmira, NY. He was born in Buffalo, NY on April 18, 1931 to the late George W. and Pauline (Turkenton) Norton. Mr. Norton retired from Great Western Winery of Hammondsport, NY after 35 years. He was a founding member and a volunteer fireman for the Kanona Fire Department and he was a life member of the Bath Fire Department. Mr. Norton was also a member of the Moose Club and a past member of the Charles E. Wescott American Legion Post 173 in Bath. He enjoyed roller skating for many years and camping with his family. He was an Army Veteran who served from 1952-1954. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Luann (Hubbard) Norton of Bath, NY; his children, Susan (Randy) Luta of Bath, NY, Terri (John) Walczak of Bath, NY, Cindy (Dave) Wager of Kanona, NY, Lisa (Steve) Jones of Bath, NY and David (Mary Jo) Norton of Livonia, NY, 12 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, his brother, George Norton Jr. of Canisteo, NY and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his other brothers and sisters. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath, NY. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home with Reverend John Gould officiating. Private burial will be held in Nondaga Cemetery, Bath. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to the Kanona or Bath Fire Departments.
