Obituary of Eugene Gilbert Aschettini

Eugene G. Aschettini, age 84, of Rockwall, TX and formerly of Bath, NY died February 23, 2017 at Baylor Scott White Garden of Garland, TX. He was born in Bath, NY September 2, 1932, the son of the late Gilbert and Nina (Vollaro) Aschettini. Gene was a 1950 graduate of Haverling Central School in Bath and went on to obtain his Master's Degree in Computer Science. He was an Air Force Veteran serving in Japan during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1956. Gene worked as a Systems Analyst in Aerospace Engineering. He was predeceased by his wife Cleo Owens Aschettini. He is survived by his sister, Eleanor Miller of Fairfax Station, VA; his nephews, Thomas & William Miller, from the Washington DC area; his stepsons, Ed & Keith Woods, from the Dallas Texas area. In Gene's early life he enjoyed letting his work take him around the world. He eventually settled in Rockwall, TX where he met the love of his life. Gene enjoyed working on engines, collecting guns and shooting, and most of all camping in Grand Teton National park. Funeral services will be held on March 6, 2017 at 10:00 am at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath and a graveside service will follow at the Bath National Cemetery with military honors at 11:00 am. Memorial donations in his name may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
