Obituary of Douglas M. Corey

Douglas M. Corey, age 86, of Bath, NY died Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the Bath Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was born September 22, 1925 in Corning, NY the son of Joseph and Jane Gibson Corey. He was a retired computer programmer from Ingersoll Rand in Painted Post, NY. Mr. Corey was a US Navy Veteran of World War II and served on the USS Essex as an aircraft gunner and he received many medals for his valor. He was a life member of the Bath B.P.O.E. 1547. He is survived by daughter, Dianne (Edwin) Robinson of Bath, NY and their children, John (Kerry) Whaley, Christine (Peter) Darcy, Jennifer (Noah) Fehrenbach, Kathleen (Colin) Hall and Mark Robinson, daughter Cynthia (Walter) Edwards of Grand Rapids , MI and their children Adam and Andrew Edwards, daughter Patricia (Martin) Bruet of Binghamton, NY and their children, Allison and Corey Bruet, brother, Jack (Eleanor) Corey; sisters-in-law, Kay (Robert) Hall, Marge Corey and Shirley Corey, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara Taynton Corey. At Doug's request there will be no services and burial will be at the convenience of the family in Bath National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of one's choice.
