Obituary of Julie A. VanSile

Julie was born on November 9th, 1958 and that was the beginning of her life-long love, for life itself. This love never wavered even as she battled a short illness which on May 26th, 2017 dimmed the light of our world, forever. Julie is survived by her Mother and Best Friend, Elizabeth VanSile Benson, Loving Son and Dedicated Caregiver, Jonathan (Jon) Van Sile, Light of her life Grandsons, Ethan and Jakob, Sister, Betty Van Sile Towne, Brothers Albert Van Sile, Samuel Wilt, Nieces and Nephews, and her ever faithful companions Benson and Bentley. Julie was predeceased by her beloved Step-Father Francis Benson and Brother Randy Wilt. Julie will be greatly missed by her life-long friends and their families. Also the many children of her neighborhood whom she mothered and grand-mothered over the years. Once you were part of Julie's circle of love, there you stayed. Julie's love for life brought her many smiles and much laughter over the years, which she selflessly shared with everyone in her world. She brought an amazing spirit of acceptance and compassion to her 25-year career with New York State DDSO. With little effort, she vastly improved the lives of those she cared for and those colleagues who were blessed to be called friends. For Julie, acts of kindness came naturally and frequently. This same caring, compassion was not left at work each day, it came home with her to be spread through shared recipes, phone calls or cards and notes to those who were ill or that she felt needed a bit of cheer, cheer which often came in the form of glitter filled get well notes. The sparkle and glitter of her life will remain here in this world long after we say our last goodbyes to this beautiful soul. Julie, we love you. A Celebration of Life will be held at Julie's home later this Summer. All of her friends and family are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, perform a "random act of kindness" for a loved one.
