Obituary of Karin M. Machuga

Karin Marie Machuga, 51 of Bath New York passed away May 30, 2017 peacefully at home. Karin was born at Ira Davenport Hospital in Bath NY to George and Louise Machuga on May 24th 1966. She attended Haverling Central School and graduated in 1984. She went on to earn her Bachelors in Education at SUNY Geneseo and her Masters in Education from Nazareth College. Her first job was teaching in Hamburg NY and then returned home to Bath to teach 1st grade at Vernon E. Wightman Primary School for 23 yrs. She was dedicated teacher and made a real difference in the lives of her students., She was an avid walker, enjoyed exercising, scrapbooking and crafts. She enjoyed being outside in her yard working with her flowers. Mostly Karin enjoyed spending her time with family and friends. Karin is survived by her mother Louise Martin, Current Father Fred Martin, Sisters: Theresa and Husband Thomas Townsend, Michele and Husband Lance Johnson, Brenda and Husband Chris Conrad. Brother Todd and Wife Kate Martin. Nieces and Nephews: Taylor and Tanner Townsend, Jax and Beckham Johnson, Bryan and Katie Conrad, Kyle Conrad ( Alicia Longwell), Emily Martin (Matt Rodbourn) and Connor Martin (Marissa Rundell) Great Nephews Logan Conrad and Mason Martin. Many aunts, uncles,cousins, cherished friends and students. She is preceded in death by her father George Machuga and her grandparents. Calling Hours will be held at Fagan's Funeral Home on Saturday June 3rd from 4 -7pm. Funeral Mass will be at St Mary's Catholic Church on Sunday June 4th at 1:30 pm. There will be no Graveside Memorial after mass. We will hold a Celebration of Life event at a later date. In lieu of flowers we are requesting donations to be Made to Bath Central School with the memo of Karin Machuga Literacy Fund. A reading nook will be established in the school library in honor of Karin.
