Obituary of Joyce A. Karwoski

Joyce A. Karwoski, of Bath, NY, died November 15, 2011 at the Steuben County Health Care Facility, Bath, NY. Born April 24,1930 in Penn Yan, NY the daughter of Albert and Fannie (Osborne) Whitaker. She grew up in Pulteney and attended the Glenn Curtiss School in Hammondsport. For 35 years she was employed at Westinghouse and North American Phillips, retiring in 1988. Joyce married Raymond S.Karwoski on July 12, 1975 and celebrated 36 years of marriage. Joyce was a 7th degree member of the North Cameron Grange, 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Stars, and member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and Charles E. Wescott American Legion Auxiliary in Bath. Joyce was a 50 year member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in Bath. She is survived by her husband Raymond, her nieces Jackie Tucker, Betty Orcutt and Judith Gressel all of Bath and nephew Steven MacNamara of Addison and six great nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law Marcella Karwoski. Joyce was predeceased by her parents, and sister Barbara and brother-in-law John (Jack) MacNamara, and nephew Richard MacNamara Friends are invited to call Today, Thursday November 17th from 1:00-3:00 and 5:00-7:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home, 31 West Morris St., Bath, NY. Eastern Star and Grange services will be at 6:30 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday November 18th at 10:00 am at the Centenary United Methodist Church in Bath with Reverend Jeff McDowell and Deacon Bob Colomaio officiating. Burial will be in the Bath National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
